19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces

A comeback the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-time coach Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested competitive win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden title following the Rome competition and initial on a hard court after March of 2023.

Victory also means the Russian has secured 21 titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

His counter-punching strategy and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to doubt if his capacity to perform at the top level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, striving to approach the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.

The champion came back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional championship, took control to push for a decider.

He rescued four initial opportunities in a close third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
