Four fans named Alex, Sam, Rory and Katie are four such fans.

The four siblings had their travel arrangements and match passes arranged for the Boxing Day and New Year Tests "well ahead of time", hoping to witness a long-awaited triumph.

Sadly, they've observed Australia outplay the visitors in just a short period from their house in their hometown.

"All my colleagues has been teasing me that the series is done for the last two weeks," said Sam.

"The hope was that we would have the series on the line upon our arrival."

Fading Positivity

Optimism was high regarding the team's prospects of securing a first win in 15 years for a series win in Australia prior to the first ball.

But they are now facing the prospect of continuing a barren spell in the country to 19 games when the fourth Test gets under way in Melbourne this week.

The tourists - and their fans - will be hoping to sidestep a dreaded 5-0 scoreline.

It was mentioned that the "thrill and enjoyment" of head coach the aggressive 'Bazball' approach in the past couple of seasons had "reinvigorated" the longest format for England fans.

"We will have a wonderful trip regardless," added another sibling. "We must adopt that attitude."

"Of course, it's a let-down we don't have more to play for, but we have spent so much money by now."

"We plan to savor celebrating the holidays in Australia. Additionally, it's a new experience for us traveling during the festive period."

An educator, Katie is focused on enjoying the lengthy journey as part of her time off.

"As a backup plan, I've got golf to fall back on," she added.
